    I have lived proud!

    By Felix | January 28, 2008

Lately my schedule has been very busy, and because of that I have not had time to visit my mum for quite a while up until 2days ago, I went to see her after more than one week of consistently calling me and usually because of time constraints, whenever we meet, we make sure to spend quality time catching up on progress with each others business and the family generally.

We have always had a strong bond because of our small family of 3, mum, my younger sis and myself, and as usual I learned another valuable lesson, or should I say something came to my awareness while talking with her…. Sometime last week, a colleague in the office asked me a question, and at that time, I don’t think he was satisfied with the answer I gave to him, but now I feel I have a better answer for him.

Question was, “Felix we resume everyday in same office , face the tasks of the day and at night we go home, to resume again with the same schedule the next day, yet you are doing so well and I don’t see you doing anything spectacular, I even resume before you in most case” . Please tell me what is the secret of your success?” He asked this question because when we discussed our goals for the year, and I mentioned a fraction of what I hoped to achieve this year, his jaws dropped, I didn’t look human to him and this felt good, because I could see in his eyes, that I had lit up a spark that will be difficult to recover from.

On Sunday while I was in church, my pastor said “If the goals you set for yourself can be achieved by our abilities, then God is more or less irrelevant in your life”, that we needed to set goals that will take God for us to achieve them.

In other words, we need to see beyond our horizon and set goals that are bigger than us.

“Aim for the sun, and if you miss you just might hit the moon.”

All this talk didn’t make much sense to the guy in question, he needed to know what it was I was doing, what it was that was practicable for him to see and do and I did more pep talk for him, in which he learned one or two things, but he still wasn’t satisfied.

Well, I hope he reads this, because while chatting with my mum, I suddenly realized how it all started, how I came to see myself as a King that I am and not a pauper, as a Head and not the tail, as one that was Destined to be above his peers, as one who was Born to Dominate, apart from the fact that the word of God says it too… “I have given you authority…” Luke 10:19. God gave us authority because when He created us, it was in His own image and likeness. So the good news is that I have an answer for my friend and it is…

“We become what we are fed” OR “We are what we are fed”, which ever one makes more sense, I’m sure he will still ask what are you talking about, I still don’t get it. It’s simple my friend. Over the years while I was growing up, my mum always told me I would be a very wealthy and successful man, that she has seen it and that I will be a great man, and she painted very nice pictures of what my life would look like and she did this over and over again. I am from a humble background (but I have lived Proud) and whenever I was down and the future she promised me looked bleak and I go to her, she didn’t loose faith, she kept telling me how I will take care of her and a lot of people too, this pictures with time got stamped in my subconscious and I never recovered from them.

I always acted it, talked it and lived it as the opportunity’s came, sometimes I threw myself into the land of fantasies and enjoyed staying there, till I came off age and realized that I wasn’t going to accomplish these things by sitting down and doing nothing. I was going to have to work, as the ibos put it in a proverb “soiled hands brings forth oiled mouths”. But it was not just that, it was mostly the believe I grew up having that whatever I put my hands into will prosper, because I grew up believing that I was Destined for Successful and really that’s what it takes, I ate this from childhood until it manifested and it can happen for anyone too.

Feed your kids (and yourself) with positive vibes, bless them always and make them know that they are blessings too, never swear or curse them, treat them like the Kings and Queens they are and they will live to become exactly that.

For those of use following the blog steadily, I know I owe about 4 concluding parts to the stories I started, well when I started today’s post, I had that in mind, but I guess something else took over, but not to worry stay tuned and you’ll get the full gist in time, I just hope this post is able to add value to someone out there.

    Peace n a Fist!

Hmm…” As a man thinketh in his heart, so he becomes”(paraphrase mine). Thanks for driving that thought home. Sometimes, we seem to forget the little details that count.

      Nice one!

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.Thats our mother.

The bible says that the power of life and death lies in our tongue, you have prophesied big,you think big and you live big too, thats the spirit man! I too have done the same for myself just like your mum prophesies for you. hey every one i think we should emulate Mr. Felix and his family on this cos the word of God has even confirmed it.
…..anyway Mr. Felix if you haven’t gotten a book yet i suggest u should better be thinking of it cos u gonna make a good writer.

      Sweet mother….

Now, that was good. See it, Speak it until it becomes your reality.

      The God factor, extremely important.

Keep up the good work. Be sure I’ll buy your book when it’s out.

      Cheers

      Felixo,
I agree, what u hear every day has a lot of impact in who u are. And what u profess even more on who u become.
