    My Concerns

    By Felix | February 4, 2008

While sharing my story, I am beginning to get a little concerned about not getting the wrong impression across to people, as much as I want to keep you guys entertained by being as graphical as I can in describing my experiences, I also would like to get a few things clearer.

    1. It’s no fictions, I actually went through these things and I am writing about it not to celebrate it, instead to let the youths out there know that before I say I can advise you or try to cause change, I have been there, done that (if not worse than you). Clearly I am lucky to be alive, and part of the reason why I am alive is so I can be used to cause change with my story.

    2. Let’s not just get entertained and forget to read between the lines to see the lessons I learned from these experiences.

    3. I can not do it alone, but I have taken the bold step to start, I need you guys now, to use this site to reach out to the people you know are in these situations, or are likely to get into them, so the real essence of the site can be felt.

Those are my concerns. I also want to use this opportunity to say thank you for your comments, you have been very encouraging, some of you have already started encouraging me to write a book, that is really flattering I hope to do that someday.

I was given a rare opportunity to be a blessing a few weeks back and I took almost the whole of last week preparing for this feat. I call it a feat, because I was supposed to speak to a group of youths who are really expectant and very thirsty for a change. And the only thing close to public speaking I had done before then was seminar presentations. But thanks to Emma Utomi one of my mentors, who lived up to expectations and quickly took me on a 2day crash course to fine tune my public speaking skills. God bless you sir.

When I got there I was amazed at the quality of potentials that exist in the Jungle City. These youths have taken their destiny’s in their hands, I didn’t teach anything new to this group of over 180 youths, but I was able to bring to their awareness the potentials that lie within them and I was glad to be able to leave a positive impact on them by just sharing a little of my own experiences, not the side I have been telling you guys about, but a picture of what my humble beginnings looked liked.

I have a follow up meeting with them next Sunday and in this meeting they are to bring the business they are into for me to help with advise and strategies for growth. Some of these youths need encouragement. Your encouragement might be the one to change someone’s life.

I will post their ideas on how to make money here and also the businesses they are already into. If it touches your heart to add value to any of them, either financially or otherwise, it could also be through mentorship, please feel free to contact me and I will get in touch with them for you.

And the truth is … “ If we all do a little, we can do a lot”.

I also came back with a few lessons from there, I think I should share with you guys. Ajegunle has always been referred to as the Slums or Jungle City. The beautiful part is they have a different definition for the Slum and Jungle City, which I think will really interest you and in my next post you will also get excerpts of what life there looks like and the lessons I learnt from the meeting stay tuned.

On a serious note when you affect a life positively the generation yet unborn that will come through that person too is affected so look at it as pay back to the society , God will strengthen you in Jesus name.
