Our Greatest Fear
By Felix | February 13, 2008
What is our greatest Fear?
Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure, it is our light not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
My question is who are you NOT to be? You are one in a billion; there is nobody on the face of the earth who has same finger print, Nose Bridge or dentition like yours. Out of 180million sperm cells, in the greatest race of our lives, which was coming into this world, you won! You came out the victor, you beat over 179million plus sperm cells to be born. I don’t know about you, but this makes me feel Unique and Powerful Beyond Measure.
I read from my mentor’s site sometime last year the quote I started with and I marveled at the angle with which fear was being perceived from, it made a lot of meaning to me then, but until early this year before I came to full understanding of what this quote really meant.
Now ask yourself this question, what is your fear or before you answer that let me try and simplify or explain FEAR as an acronym ….
False Evidence Appearing Real.
Now ask yourself what is your real fear … a lot of us have this negative attitudinal problem, before we embark on any project or cause or even business, we quickly start looking at “what if it doesn’t work?” or what if people don’t like me or what if people don’t like it and then with these questions our beautiful ideas die an unnatural death costing the world our brilliance.
Another fear we allow is we come up with mind blowing ideas, dreams and projects. Then we let ourselves listen to dream killers, who listen to you and tell you, it won’t work, not because they have tried it, but because it’s what they feel… my question is who gave them the right to say it won’t work when they haven’t even tried it before, who made them judge over YOU! . Don’t get me wrong here, I’m not saying we shouldn’t listen to constructive criticism, I am just saying if there is one thing everyone has a right to, one special thing you can’t steal from a hungry man on the curb who has lost all hope (even when he shouldn’t, because he is still alive), if there is one thing you can’t take away from him it’s his right to DREAM, it doesn’t matter if it will come true or not, but we all find solace in our dreams and you shouldn’t let people take that away from you.
When God created the heavens and the earth, all He did was call it into being and it came into being, He also called the birds of the air and the beasts of the fields, and they came into being too, he saw it and it was good (take note, it was Good), but when He created Man he first did so in his own image and likeness. Now I don’t know how you translate this, but to me its means we are gods, He didn’t stop there, He blessed man and gave him Dominion over every other thing that had been created (this includes all the forces of nature and the principles of life), but that was still just the hardware, He went an extra mile of breathing into mans’ nostrils to give him Life, now this was the software than made man complete and also a god to be able to create and bring things into being like God did.
Now follow me, I am not trying to Preach here, just bringing out significant facts to shed more light on where we are going … When I think about we humans, I often marvel. We are the greatest wonders of this planet. There is no known feat that human beings have not achieved. We have climbed the highest mountains, swam through unbelievable waters, conquered space and tamed the wildest beasts. Man has gained mastery over the water ways, man dictates the scope of burning fire. Man is a wonder and a bundle of potentials. In the current state of world conquest, and the finding of many answers, think about it - The only thing that man has not achieved, is what he has not thought of or set his eyes on as a goal.
So I ask again… What if it works? What if the world celebrates you, your talent or your contribution? and the answers becoming more glaring. The only thing stopping you is… YOU!
I didn’t know I could write until I started and people started saying write a book, tell us more stories, you have a way of making it interesting. I didn’t know I could speak until the opportunity came and I stood up to it and went to ajegunle to make a difference, to cause a stir amongst youths who have potentials and are yet to tap into it.
I have discovered a few of my gifts and talents, accepted them and I am flowing in them. What about YOU? Will you cheat the world of your brilliance? Will you hide your light under a bushel? Or will you embrace your talents and contribute to this great world of ours?
If you will be bold enough to then take this charge and declare it to yourself and the world
I am who I say I am, I have what I say I have, I can achieve anything I set my mind to Achieve. I will accept my gifts and talents henceforth and stop cheating The World Of My Brilliance
Like I said before the only thing stopping you is …. YOU
Peace n a fist

WOW..brilliant Felix i have always been the one to make u think n feel.. now however the tables have turned here.. lol..u truly amaze me, i always seen intelligence in u way before u have and im sure many others have seen it also.. I agree with u totally here it is human nature to judge, put those stepping stones infront of our fellow brother only because we are scared of change ourselves..When one faces trials in life and hits the bottom of that bottle is usually the only time in their life when they have to make changes and look at who they are what they are and the positive or negitive impact they have created and most until that time wont make changes they float threw life listening to others thus never moving forward and allowing other to live their lives threw them. Your writing here, is going to make those that read it, really stop to think about their life, their gift, their contribution to the world, and so once again u have built a bridge over those stones for others to cross over. Thank you, for this wonderful reading into your thoughts, on life, it will impact those that read it, it has me doing some major soul searching, although i do know what my gift is and i am blessed to know, God willing others will get a light bulb moment on their meaning of self.. May God continue to work threw u.. hagd sweetie luv u xxx

Great piece, we can only know when we try. There is a part of our brain that works only when we are under pressure. We can achieve anything. Keep it up bro, the best of your song is yet to be sang and the best of your story is yet to be told.

“Your attitude determines your altitude”(You’d better believe that!!!)
The devil keeps throwing it up (fear) in your face.
JUST DO the damn thing”, yes, just do it, take that bold step, don’t be bothered about what YOUR fears ‘re. Just make sure that what you are doing is right and you are not leaving any stone unturned.
God’s speed

Everyone who’s ever taken a shower has an idea. It’s the person who gets out of the shower, dries off and does something about it who makes a difference.

A wise man once said that whatever you dont confront you cannot conquer and whatever we dont resist has the right to stay and I believe that fear is that will stop us from these accomplishment

Experience they say is the best teacher. If you didnt set up a blog like this to share your esperiences, no one would have known or seen your other side. From your write up, i can see you conquered fear, weakness and now you educate lot of us on how best to make use of our talent. Keep this going, as it will instill confidence in a lot of people to tap from what they can do best for themselfs.

We shld know who we can trust their critcism. Not just anyone shld hear ur dream. My bro used to say any one that doesnt multiply u or at least add to u shld be done away with. such relationshp will only keep takin away from u.
Have a mentor and tell him ur dreams. If the person u tell ur dreams to keep running u down, its time for a change.
Also believe in urself.

Fear is greatest veil that can blind a man from reality.
The believe that “All things are possible with you” is the greatest FREEDOM you can have.
