    Why go to church?

    By Felix | June 29, 2008

confused2.jpgI didn’t go to church today, and for no good reason, and this gets me wondering what’s going on with me, is it that I have suddenly become tired of hearing the word of God because I am having a few issues or am I allowing trials weigh me down to the point where I think since I have been to church more Sundays this year than I have missed, so missing one more wouldn’t make so much difference.

I am sure some of us feel like this on Sunday mornings, too tired, willing to sleep all day long and counting it as the day of rest. Well as much as I feel like this on Sundays, I know the right thing to do is go to church for worship and thanksgiving and any Sunday I miss church, I stay with a guilty feeling till service is over, but I read a story from a colleagues blog today and it made me understand more the importance of Sunday services.

I am sharing it and hoping it will make as much impact as it had on me.

    Enjoy…

A man woke up early in order to have his morning devotion (prayer) in the Lord’s house (church). He got dressed, set on his way to the Lord’s house (church). On his way to the church, the man fell and his clothes got dirty. He got up, brushed himself up, and headed home.

At home, he changed his clothes, and was, again, on his way to the Lord’s house. On his way to the church, he fell again and at the same spot! He, again, got up, brushed himself off and headed home. At home he, once again, changed his cloths and was on his way to the Lord’s house (church).

On his way to the church, he met a man holding a lamp. He asked the man of his identity and the man replied ‘I saw you fall twice on your way to the church, so I brought a lamp so I can light your way. The first man thanked him profusely and the two went on their way to the church. Once at the church, the first man asked the man with the lamp to come in and pray with him.

The second man refused. The first man asked him a couple more times and, again, the answer was the same. The first man asked him why he did not wish to come in and pray.

The man replied, ‘I am Satan’. The man was shocked at this reply. Satan went on to explain, ‘I saw you on your way to the Church and it was I who made you fall.

When you went home, cleaned yourself and went back on your way to the church, God forgave all of your sins. I made you fall a second time, and even that did not encourage you to stay home, but rather, you went back on your way to Church.

Because of that, God forgave all the sins of the people of your household. I was afraid if I made you fall one more time, then God will forgive the sins of the people of your village, so I made sure that you reached the house of God (Church) safely.’

So do not let Satan benefit from his actions. Do not put off the good you intended to do as you never know how much reward you might receive from the hardships you encounter while trying to achieve that good. For your righteousness can save your family and nation at large.

Do this and see the victory of the lord.

But you didn’t go to church on Sunday, would you say it was Satan that caused this or you blamed yourself?

ok Felix not all are able to attend church.. doesnt mean God doesnt see or hear them .. the spirit of God is in your soul not church.. church is for fellowship, if you choose to praise our Father with others.. but just because one doesnt attend church doesnt mean they are damned to hell.. many sick.. physically handicap.. hospitalized etc.. can not attend.. but still even if they could n didnt doesnt mean that God doesnt hear their prayers,.. and i feel that at times it is best to praise my God in private, what i have to say n how he teaches me his word is between him n i.. I know my Father, my Brother and the Spirit of truth he gave us….Im not a huge believer of the Church.. i find many hypicrites.. judgers.. and others that attend them that feel the need to let others know what n how they should be living their life when in fact it is between them n their God.. I just love people that have their lives so much in order that they can focus on others.. hummmm ..so dont beat yourself up so bad for missing church.. our Father see’s your tears your fears your happiness n laughter.. he feels your love that that love carries over all doesnt matter where u are in the world he feels it.. wink.xx

The church is in your heart, am not saying its not good to go to church and listen to the word of God which is life, but when you don’t go to church does not make you a sinner or A Child of God, The most important questions you ask yourself is,
Do you take God’s Word seriously? Is it life or death for you? Do you feed upon His Word daily so that you might know Him and know His precepts?
friends please Feed upon this knowledge.
