Time Bank
By Felix | August 6, 2008
This is one element (I hope I can use that word) that everyone has in equal amount, yet people live lives worthy of emulation and praises because they have left foot prints in the sands of time, while some others go through life only to wonder at their old age when and how all the time passed.
Truth is, right from the time we were born, we had all been served, and the legacy you’ll leave behind will not be achieved by merely wishing or dreaming dreams (don’t get me wrong nothing wrong in dreaming), or waiting for when things get better (the usual excuse) before those around you can be impacted or blessed by you, before I deviate from the topic, the issue is, how we spend our time on a daily basis at the end adds up to who or what we become eventually and until this fact is taken into cognizance, it’s possible we just obliviously go through each passing day believing we still have enough time.
I have spoken before using the examples below to hammer my point on Time although it had to do with a different topic, but whatever topic it is, I have come to see (in my humble opinion) that time cannot be managed, the clock will keep ticking no matter what you do, and you best be spending your time deliberately as the difference between those who leave a legacy or a name behind and those who don’t is; They chose to live their lives intentionally whilst the latter lived theirs arbitrarily.
Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400.
It carries over no balance from day to day.
Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day.
What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course!!!!
Each of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds.
Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose.
It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft.
Each day it opens a new account for you.
Each night it burns the remains of the day.
If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours.
There is no going back. There is no drawing against the “tomorrow”.
You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success!
The clock is running. Make the most of today.
To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a grade.
To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed the train.
To realize the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who just avoided an accident.
Treasure every moment that you have! And reassure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time.
Remember that time waits for no one.
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.
Today is a gift.
That’s why it’s called the present!
How are days are spent, is how we spend our lives, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well of time, but whether we wake or sleep, whether we work or play, time will inevitably be spent. Like Dion Boucicault put it, Men talk of killing time, while time quietly kills them.
Time is an equal opportunity employer. Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day. Rich people can’t buy more hours. Scientists can’t invent new minutes. And you can’t save time to spend it on another day. Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving. No matter how much time you’ve wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow. ~Denis Waitely

Benjamin Franklin said “Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that the stuff life is made of”.
There is no way to save time or bring back time so I intend to bring the most happiness into today’s time. I hope that makes sense to somebody.
Another quote I remember is “By labor we can find food and water, but all of our labor will not find for us another hour”.

Time is…
Too Slow for those who Wait,
Too Swift for those who Fear
Too Long for those who Grieve,
Too Short for those who Rejoice,
But for those who Love’
And what if u were told: one more hour?
will u Spend it wisely?

Thanks…I was just taking a survey of my life some few hours ago. I realized the constituent of life is time. Indeed time is life…One of the lessons i learned while taking the survey is that it’s good to document our time in journals (like dairy). With that we would be able to know how we have spend, used or invested our lifes..It’s good to take notes as the time passes by..
