    Father I Thank You

    By Felix | September 7, 2008

Looks like these days, it takes my chatting with people to get inspired to write…lol, I remember when I first started this blog, the stories, the topics kept coming and I kept flowing, but now looks like I am going through a writer’s block or is it something else. Anyway before I digress to far from what I want to write about today, after chatting with a colleague, I came to understand part of what keeps me going even when it seems like everything around isn’t working.

I have come to also learn that there is a time and season for everything, there are times in our lives when its seems all we touch become gold, we bask in the glory and mercy of God and everything we touch works and everyone around calls us lucky and, there also comes a time when we strive very hard and do everything within our power to make things work and the closer we get to the goal, the further away it seems, or like my colleague put it, the harder you strive towards achieving, the more it all seems like a mirage.

Well there are a few ways in which I see these situations,

    1. Sometimes we get neck deep into what we are pursuing and start trusting in our abilities alone, forgetting we always need God, or better still if we always go for our goals and achieve them with our abilities alone, then why would we need God? or why would we need to pray at all? So sometimes when we are that neck deep and forgetting he is there to make our laden light, it all looks very hard until we remember and commit things into his hands.

    2. Our ability to believe and trust totally in God regardless of what the present circumstances are, is also a push force that makes the universe work for us, in other words the amount of faith we have in our future being totally in the hands of God and not getting overwhelmed by our current circumstances and situations, can take us further.

    3. Every day when we wake up we decide unconsciously how the day will turn out and really it’s up to you how your day will turn out, think about it, the days you wake up bursting with enthusiasm, it looks like everything you do works out well and the day you wake on the other side, the whole day becomes a drag.

Lastly but not the least, where we are today is by a function of many of our prayers that have been answered by God, but because we quickly get into wanting more and wanting to cross the next hurdle life brings to bare, we quickly forget a few years ago, when we were looking for a admission into school, or looking for a job after school, or looking for a better paying job, or looking for a place to call your own, or looking for a husband or wife, or looking for a baby and so on… we cross some of these hurdles in life and instead of doing the most important thing, which is thanksgiving to the One who made it happen, we quickly forget where we are coming from and want for more, don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong in wanting more, because really more is always available, but…

…Question is when last did you take out time to give thanks to God for those things which we consider to be small things today, quickly forgetting that before they were or before we had them, they seemed like a breakthrough, when last did you look back to evaluate where you are coming from to know that indeed God has blessed you.

Let’s take out time to today or better still now to say… Father I thank You! Because, if we are in a constant mode of thanks giving, He will be more than willing to do abundantly more than we can ever anticipate.

In relation to your post, I read something this morning from The Word for Today’s Gospel So Amazing Foundation’s devotional. If you have not read it , this is it

“At a Women of Faith conference they were short of space for 150 people, so the staff brought in narrower chairs. Everyone had a seat but conditions in the auditorium were cramped and nobody was happy. The director asked the guest speaker, Joni Eareckson Tada, to help calm the crowd. Achildhood diving accident had left Joni quadriplegic and confined to a wheelchair. As the attendants pushed her out onto the platform sha addressed the audience. ‘I understand some of you don’t like the chair you’re sitting in. Well, neither do I! But I have a thousand handicapped friends who’d gladly trade places with you.’ Immediately the hall went quiet and the complaining stopped.â€

      Enjoy!!!

We human beings find it very difficult to ThAnK God in our trials, rather we grumble when things re going wrong,we only turn to Him with our requests in prayer only when the going gets
Tough, do we know that God understands our sorrows & the adversities that we face in this life, we should be able to ThAnK Him in all things.

There are many ways we can ThAnK God other than with words: we can do that with Singing, playing musical instruments, ministering to others,
and with Christ-like attitudes and actions. Likewise, there are many reasons for
Thanking Him, such as for His greatness and His everlasting love, when a new baby is born, when we say adieu to a beloved family or friend
Who has entered into eternal rest.

Above all, let us ThAnK Him for the great gift of His Son, Jesus.

      FaThEr I ThAnK U.

Trouble never suprises God! Everyone he uses seems to move from one challenge to another.Listen to how PAUL describes the christain life:’In everything we do,we show that we are true ministers of GOD.We patiently endure troubles and hardships n calamities of every kind.we prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness,by d holy spirit within us n by our sincere love.

We are ignored, even though we r well known.we live close 2 death, but we r still alive.we have been beaten, but we ve not been killed. Our hearts ache, but we always ve joy.we own nothin, but yet we ve every thing..GOD neva promised us a rose garden but he’ll stand wit u on ur battlefield, take u thru d storm n turn ur seasons of adversity into seasons of growth..REJOICE N BE THANKFUL!!4 U R NOT LOSING INSTEAD U R LEARNING N GROWNIN IN STRENGTH..
