For a while now, I have been too focused on chasing after money making opportunities alone, leaving some other important things that complete the puzzle I call my life hanging, when really I should know that it all adds up to make me, and this had gotten me very stressed up, so I decided to take out time from my busy schedule to look at other areas that have been left hanging.

Last week to be precise, I looked back at the beginning of the year and checked a few of my goals that I have not been following through and felt sad at how overwhelmed we can get with work and getting busy, that we forget some important commitments we have made and how these affect others. I was around Surulere ( Lagos, Nigeria) and I decided to pay a visit to the Heart of Gold Hospices, where I have a commitment to as a partner to take care of the children.

I hadn’t been there in a while, although I have Read the rest of this entry »

    Father I Thank You

    By Felix | September 7, 2008

Looks like these days, it takes my chatting with people to get inspired to write…lol, I remember when I first started this blog, the stories, the topics kept coming and I kept flowing, but now looks like I am going through a writer’s block or is it something else. Anyway before I digress to far from what I want to write about today, after chatting with a colleague, I came to understand part of what keeps me going even when it seems like everything around isn’t working.

I have come to also learn that there is a time and season for everything, there are times in our lives when its seems all we touch become gold, we bask in the glory and mercy of God and everything we touch works and everyone around calls us lucky and, there also comes a time when we Read the rest of this entry »

    Beautiful Pearls

    By Felix | September 1, 2008

After chatting with one of my friends from back in my street days, the inspiration to write this post came up and I really hope it will make a difference to someone out there, funny enough the chat didn’t last up to five minutes, but the reason why I had to write just hit me.

He made realize again, how difficult it is to leave the street life or should I call it the fast lane and face the realities of life or should I say take responsibility and do something worthwhile with one’s life. In fact, I can apply this story to most circumstances people face on a daily. We hold on tight to what we have believing God for a better life or something better and not knowing that, sometimes we need to let go of what we have so God can give us something much better.

The chat went as thus, he asked how I was coping with work, and also went on to say in his words… “E no easy at all for street dis days ooo!” that’s Pidgin English, means; it’s not easy for boys on the street. I simply told him, because they refused to Read the rest of this entry »

    Big Brother Africa III (part-2)

    By Felix | August 28, 2008

Thought I already had enough said, with the first post on BBA3 only to get home to be rudely shocked by the stories of the daytime activity the house mates got themselves involved in, and I ask myself a few more questions, what really is a reality show based on, I thought it was supposed to be acting out your real life in the house or your being yourself without pretense or am I getting it all wrong, I stand to be corrected if I am, else how do you describe 2boys and a girl butt naked in the shower at the same time, is that reality or a desperate attempt by the house mates, (due to the standards set by the very controversial scandalous winner in the last edition who got two girls in bed at the same time and nearly had sex with the both of them if he had not be stopped by the questionable timely intervention of the medics), to show I am the wildest, so I deserve the 100,000USD.

That is not the worst of it, the news I came back to hear is Read the rest of this entry »

    Big Brother Africa III

    By Felix | August 27, 2008

In Africa today, or should I say the world over, television reality shows are stealing the audience, the ratings are busting through the roof and the actors or should I say the participants depending on the one you are watching are gaining all the popularity while the producers are smiling to the banks.

Let me narrow down what I want to talk about to Africa, The Ultimate Search ended a few weeks ago with the top guy cashing a whooping N7million naira and a brand new jeep, which I don’t really mind, considering what they go through in the jungle for weeks of bad weather threats of wild life and poor diet, not to talk of test of skill and strength.

The Intern or Apprentice Africa, these also have good reviews and a wide audience especially in the corporate world, where youths are tested in marketing and managerial skills, with real life tasks of delivering for the said organization and the winners end up having Read the rest of this entry »
